Can You Get an Aviation Medical With a Medical Condition?
Many pilots worry that a health condition will end their flying. In reality, a medical condition does not necessarily mean you cannot obtain an aviation medical certificate.
What gets assessed
Your history, medications and current health may need assessment. The outcome depends on the individual, so it is worth having the conversation early rather than guessing.
How to prepare
- Bring a current list of your medications
- Bring relevant specialist reports and test results
- Bring any additional reports CASA has asked for; bringing them early can help avoid delays
- Do not stop or change medication without advice from your treating doctor
Talk to the clinic
Please do not put sensitive medical details into website forms. Send a general enquiry or call, and the clinic will discuss the details with you directly.
