How to Prepare for Your CASA Aviation Medical in Brisbane
A little preparation helps your aviation medical run smoothly and can avoid delays. Here is a simple checklist.
1. Complete your CASA application first
Submit your aviation medical application through the Medical Records System (MRS) in myCASA before your DAME appointment, so your details are ready when you arrive.
2. Bring what your doctor needs
- Photo identification
- Your glasses or contact lenses, so your vision can be assessed accurately
- An up-to-date list of prescription or regular medications
- Relevant reports, such as specialist reports, blood tests, ECG, audiology, eye assessments or other investigations CASA has requested
3. Be complete and honest
Your DAME can only assess what they know. Give a full picture of your history, medications and current health. A medical condition does not necessarily mean you cannot hold a certificate, and sorting it out early usually saves time.
4. Allow a little extra time if it is your first medical
First-time applicants should allow a little extra time because your medical history needs to be completed through MRS before the appointment.
